BIOGRAPHY

"Compared to compositions for large orchestra,

"Sinfonia d'aprile" preserves the neotonal style while the greater simplicity of the melodic writing and of the formal construct probably derives from the references to southern folklore which, on the one hand, distances this piece from the characteristics of German Neoromanticism and from the thematic research typical of many authors of the "New Simplicity", on the other hand, guarantees a pleasant and immediate listening. "

Egidio Pozzi - University of Calabria

From an early age he took piano lessons, alternating music with sports. However, his love for music began to grow when, after leaving his architecture studies for the DAMS in Bologna, he was able to attend the course in "Theory of music" of the great composer and academic Aldo Clementi.  After having interrupted and resumed his musical studies several times he obtained the Diploma of Singing at the Conservatory of Vibo Valentia (1996) and then that of Piano at the Conservatory of Salerno (2000). In the meantime he continued his studies focusing on contemporary and neo-tonal music; deepening the study of composition and, as a lateral activity, of orchestral conducting. In 2018 he obtained the second level academic diploma in "musical technologies and new languages" at the Conservatory of Benevento. In the same year he also received the certificates for participation in the master classes of "Composition and direction of film music" with Sandro Di Stefano and of "Classical music in cinema" with director Luca Verdone..

From 2000 to 2005 he collaborated with the music department of Città della Scienza in Naples with which he took part in numerous European projects, and not only, in the role of  expert in music and new technologies. Over the years he has worked as an arranger and composer for numerous pop music productions: to his credit over forty albums where his name appears as an arranger and / or composer and sound engineer.

From 2005 to the present day he has been invited to be part of  giuria in numerous contests in Italy and abroad. As a popular music composer, he has received awards at prestigious festivals in Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, Serbia, Spain, Ukraine, Turkey, Moldova, Belarus, Russia, Bulgaria, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Romania.

For several years, however, his activity as a composer is mainly addressed to study and research in the field of "cultured" music.

One of his symphonic orchestral pieces was  included in UCLA's Contemporary music score collection, one of the largest academic music collections in North America and the largest and oldest music library on the west coast of the United States   (Colasanto F. - 2020 - Symphonic poem "Arcana". UCLA: Music Library). In 2018 one of his pieces for guitar and violin ("The lives of others" Prendinota edizioni, Ellera umbra) was included in the SATOR DUO concert program and performed in numerous concert halls in the United States. In 2017, however, it received an honorable mention at the call for score announced by the Veridian Symphonic Orchestra (USA) with the piece for symphonic orchestra "I misteri d'Eleusi". .

Several of his compositions have already been performed in "world premiere": Ave Maria (Zamek Książąt Pomorskich - Szczecin, Poland 2016), Symphony "Earth!" (Filharmonia Koszalin - Poland, 2016), "Symphony of April" (Tayyare kultur merkezi - Bursa, Turkey, 2019), "A week" (Castello Fienga - Nocera inf., Italy, 2020) "Winter tune" (Castello Fienga - Nocera inf., Italy, 2020), “A Boy, a Girl” Pop Symphonic Poem (Sala S. Francesco - Capodistria, Slovenia, 2022)
